Phew. The last month has been incredibly busy. From Stampede to Summer Camps, we are always on our toes, trying to make Retro Oasis the best it can be.
While our trip to the Calgary Stampede was an absolute blast, it did present us with a unique challenge: where would we put all those arcade machines once they returned to Okotoks? After much brainstorming and creative deliberation, we landed on a solution that perfectly leveraged our passion for building and renovation—we decided to go big and expand the arcade!
Out with the old….

It was clear that it was time to bid farewell to ‘The Dangerous Dilemma of Daphne Dixon’ escape room - it was time to be like Elsa and let it go. In a whirlwind 4 days, we had cleared out the space and dismantled the party room to make space for our bigger and better arcade. We spent some time playing ‘musical chairs’ with the arcade machines, moving them around until the layout felt just right. Daphne’s room miraculously transformed into the spacious new party area by Friday afternoon, just in time for a last minute birthday celebration.

The end result is exciting…
We have created a more spacious place for family and friends to get together, share some drinks and connect over games, just like we did back in the day. Bring your friends to play our selection of 4 player games like Sunset Riders, TMNT or the Simpsons, or maybe just hang out for a little “me time” playing classics like Galaga or Ms. Pacman.
Staying true to who we are…
We are grateful to receive such positive and encouraging feedback on the new arcade space, our quality escape rooms and our community spirit. Supporting our community is important to us, which we do by promoting local businesses, buying local and stocking only local beers and spirits. Our summer camps exemplify this sense of community, and people have noticed.
Summer Camp…
Halfway through our first week of summer camp, and we have already done 2 arcade tournaments, an escape room, and played virtual golf at Golf 4 U upstairs. Thanks to Mike for giving the kids great instruction and making sure they had clubs that fit, everyone had a great time. Next up is a trip to Millenium Lanes for bowling and movie day on Friday, with pizza and a VHS movie of their choice from the huge collection in our Flixbuster Video escape room.

Got tokens? 💰💲
Our tokens have been walking out the door at a clip these days and we would love to welcome them back! Bring in your tokens and play a few games. We have some new high scores to beat (The Simpsons and Burgertime) and some games that don’t have a high score on the wall yet (Pro Tip - this is the best time to get your name on the high score board as there is no score to beat!)
Bring your friends and family for a fun day out at the arcade and take a step back into time to play our Flixbuster Video escape room for the full retro vibe. We can’t wait to see you!
